From NYC to Texas, the feeling going into this Memorial Day weekend is that we're finally done with COVID. Who cannot feel relieved after all the isolation. But is the pandemic done with us? Definitely not globally as cases have now GONE UP in 60 countries over 2 weeks. In the US, hospitalizations dropped 80% since January and yet more Americans died from COVID last week than during 9/11.
Our perspective has changed, of course, after losing 607,844 - more American deaths than WWI and WWII combined. And yet, COVID continues to be viscerally real for the families of 500 people whom the virus still kills EVERY DAY across the country. Unlike so many across the world, we're fortunate to be able to protect our lives, liberty, and happiness. So be patriotic, #vaxup or #maskup!
